About Deniece Bourne

So, who is Deniece Bourne?

In short, a City Girl with Island Heritage, born in Brooklyn, New York to Barbadian Parents.

In my continuous pursuit of knowledge and figuring out who I am, I have engaged in studies in multiple disciplines. I’ve dabbled with Foreign Languages for Business and Tourism, pursued an undergrad in Biology (to become a Marine Biologist….. and then a Forensic Scientist), and even completed a Post-Grad in Business Management!

However, time and space (and even the name Deniece!) conspired to manifest my first encounter with the Wine & Spirits Industry, and I haven’t looked back since!

For more than 15 years, I have been of service to the Barbadian, Caribbean and International Wine & Spirits Industries! From my formative days as a Wine Sales Representative through a decade as Co-Founder and Managing Director of a Wine Import & Distribution business, I dedicated time (and much pride) to acquire and share my knowledge, passion and love for all things wine and spirits!

As I transitioned into the Wine & Spirits Education sector, I continued my quest for knowledge by pursuing the (soon-to-be-complete) WSET Diploma in Wines, becoming a WSET Certified Wine and Spirits Educator.

So, in summary, I am a proud Barbadian-American living in service to others through her knowledge, passion and love for Wine & Spirits, serving as

  • Wine and (Budding) Spirits Specialist
  • WSET Certified Wine & Spirits Educator (Levels 1 and 2 Qualifications)
  • Business Development Specialist
  • Dame, Les Dames d’Escoffier NYC Chapter
  • Board Member, The Veraison Project
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advocate
  • Mentor

I look forward to being of service to YOU!!
